I’m one of them who gets very little of an aroma from my beer, just some sweet maltiness. Amber in color with a rocky off-white head, it’s a medium-bodied drink. The flavor is a that of a chewy caramel malt. There’s just a bit of earthy hop bitterness on the finish. Not very interesting, but from reading the other reviews, I see that might change tomorrow.

Clear dark amber to copper color. Taller beige head. LIght toasted malt, dough and a sweet floral aromas. Interesting, but not that appealing. LIght caramel, toasted malt, roasted nut and bit of herbal hops in the flavors. Hints of citrus in the finish. Just another amber. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Sampled from roving 64-oz growler during Dark Lord Day ’09. Pours a semi-clear brownish amber colored brew with a thin off-white head that dissolves fast and leaves some spotty lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, some grassy hops and a touch of roasted nuts. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of caramel malt, some grassy hops and a hint of dry chocolate. Finish is slightly watery, semi-dry with a quick disappearing caramel and grassy hop aftertaste. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 26, 2007 Poured a clear medium caramel with a short white head. Sweet and inviting lightly-toasted caramel in the nose along with some pine hoppage. Sweet caramel again in the flavor with pine and floral accents.. short, tacky finish with decent balance. Almost medium-bodied with a sweet base and moderate bitterness around. Quite nice. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
