Very smooth with a good hop bite that cleansed the palate. Was excellent with the Southwestern pork sandwich. gws57 (1149), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA

Deep amber pour with a lacy whilte head, mild rosy nose, good hoppiness, finished bitter but pretty alcoholic, not a bad amber. kane (111), USA

No bitterness so this is not hopped enough for any type of pale ale. Enough of a malt sweetness to balance this out nicely. i enjoyed it alot. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 20, 2005 The color of this beer was masked by the plastic cup this was served in at a fest, but I detected an amber/orange under a lasting, creamy film. Grapefruit/citrus hopped nose with a good malt/hop balance in flavor. Creamy mouth and a dry finish.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 26, 2007 Poured a clear medium caramel with a short white head. Sweet and inviting lightly-toasted caramel in the nose along with some pine hoppage. Sweet caramel again in the flavor with pine and floral accents.. short, tacky finish with decent balance. Almost medium-bodied with a sweet base and moderate bitterness around. Quite nice. beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA

Barely discernable hoppy aroma. Dry palate with starts with intense tongue scubbing hop bitterness that finishes with dry lingering bitterness. Not my cup of tea but hop heads take note. Stands up nicely against atomic buffalo wings and pizza with lots of garlic. Skyview (4097), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Sampled from roving 64-oz growler during Dark Lord Day ’09. Pours a semi-clear brownish amber colored brew with a thin off-white head that dissolves fast and leaves some spotty lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, some grassy hops and a touch of roasted nuts. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of caramel malt, some grassy hops and a hint of dry chocolate. Finish is slightly watery, semi-dry with a quick disappearing caramel and grassy hop aftertaste. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 14, 2008 Sampler at pub. Oh, yeah: amber colored. Light ale foam still there in the glass. Crystal malt smell with some hoppiness, too. A decent standard amber. The hops show just a little grass and pine, but also some basic noble hop bitterness.
