Feb 27, 2008 poured from a mini keggy at piece. pours clear amber with beige head. nose of cotton candy and spices. flavor has hints of spice and lots of caramel and cotton candy. sweet but not too much. just lacks complexity for bw. nice though.

Jan 10, 2007 I had the cask conditioned version of this new (per the brewmaster) barleywine. It poured a clear chestnut body with red highlighting and a creamy beige head. No lacing. The aroma’s a sweet caramel blended with bitter nuts and alcohol. Dangerously smooth to dring, the strong ABV being well hidden. Somewhat thin. It tastes of caramel with a light fruitiness, alcohol, and a mild citric bitterness that lasts into the finish.
