Commercial Description:
The Kölsch is a German-style ale that is brewed to obtain lager-like characteristics. This brew is highly carbonated and low in alcohol to create a very refreshing, thirst quenching beverage. Lite beer fans will really enjoy the Kolsch.

This is something the brewer brought to the ICBG Summer BrewFest besides their IIPA. The color is a bright yellow and the head is a frothy white. The aroma is an intense malt sweetness, a bit of pome fruits, and a trace of floral hopping. This thing was WAY TOO SWEET for me, and for the style, too, I would suggest. It actually made it difficult to distinguish other flavors that may have been present. The finish, a sticky sweet syrup. One’s enough for me.

Poured a dull, clear golden with a medium cap of creamy white head and some lacing. Nose was soft and grainy with some biscuity sweetness.. dusty noble hop accents. Flavor had a sweet biscuity base with moderate, dry bitterness surrounding.. faint head of citrus extends through a short finish.. solid. Light-bodied with rather high carbonation.. tad grainy.. felt and tasted very good for the style.

Sampled at Schlafly’s Repeal of Prohibition Fest along with Beerdrenched. Pours yellow with a light white head. The aroma is grainy and grassy with a bit of skunk. Medium / light body with a pleasant sharp carbonation. The taste starts grassy and grainy with pale malt. The finish brings in some spicy hops. Nothing fancy, just a well done kolsch.

Clear golden color with a frothy white head. Grainy, yeasty bread lager aroma is lightly sweet. Light bodied. Nice bready malt yeasty flavor is mildly sweet. Has a bit of a spicy hoppy bitterness to finish. Refreshing drink for a hot summers afternoon.

tap at the repeal prohibition festival. pours light yellow with a small soapy white head. nose is grassy with some active kolsch yeast here, almost skunky notes. very grassy flavors with quite a bit of grassy/spicy hops. definately a refreshing brew for shure. assertive grassy notes all the way through to a long finish. I could drink this one for hours. well done kolsch, a very nice style if you ask me.

Pale yellow color, extremely clear and vibrant, no head. Aroma is lemons and yeast. Taste is crisp and refreshing - a good match on a mid-April, 71-degree day. Flavor is predominantly lemony. Low bitterness. Somewhat astringent, but for once, that doesn’t bother me. Dry, silently sour finish. Mickey Finn’s did a nice rendition with this one.

Clear light amber body. Pencil eraser, nuts and anise in the questionable flavor. Tomatoes in the nose. Bad batch?

Cask version at 2007 NotLA. Lager/malt liquor aroma. Cloudy yellow body. Very lagerish flavor. A little diacetyl. Fruity and dry. Not bad, but not overly representative of the style.
