Aroma is big on floral hops with a little citrus in there as well. Taste is sweet, fruity--a little citrus and only a little bitterness towards the end. Medium mouthfeel. A decent beer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 29, 2008 This reminds me of the New Glarus Imperial weizen. Loads of hops in the aroma and flavor, especiall y for the style. Good, crisp flavor with citrus and grapefruit, with a sour citrus bite. An interesting fusion of styles, like an ipa and weizen. The aroma, as beoir pointed out, is strong with lilac, but I also smelled some Off Bugspray which detracted from the aroma. The taste is somewhat spicy and grainy (not wheat though) with a bit of pear and peach too. Medium mouthfeel. beoir (51), st paul, Minnesota, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 27, 2008 Thanks to Brewfiend/BDR for this! Hazy gold color with a large head. Strong floral aroma (pegged as lilac by Beoir) and a pinch of citrus. Mainly floral lilac taste. The wheat was there, but definitely on the decline. Still a very tasty brew. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 27, 2008 This was intriguing. A strong floral hop aroma that beoir eventually nailed as lilac. Flavor began with a somewhat generic grain flavor but the intriguing floral hops quickly overwhelmed these flavors. Didn’t detect much wheat, but good none-the-less. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 5, 2008 22oz purchased at Whole Foods Bowery. Pours a decent looking orange to amber, with modest head and carbonation. The smell is fairly thick - lots of banana, some faint malts, and a heap of spice (clove and pepper predominantly). On the one hand, this thing seems to have held up well - I say this not having tried it fresh, but it’s got plenty of bite and pep. But on the other hand, it also seems a bit thin, with not much complexity, and even the hops seem washed out. Decent beer but not much more than that.
