Nov. 2006 - Beer poured golden color, nice head and lacing. Aroma was sweet wheat. Flavor was wheaty, peppery, grassy. Grapefruit hops were prevalent. An alright beer, nothing memorable.

22 oz bottle, via puzzl. Pours a slightly hazy yellow gold body under a one inch foamy beige head that left thick heavy lacing. Low lazy carbonation. Nose is slightly sweet heavy wheat with some subtle accents of spices and a hint of alcohol. The spices are quite a bit stronger in the flavor than I expected. Reminds me of a Belgian White but with a much thicker and heavier base. Alot of yeast influence in here. Mouthfeel is thick and full bodied with fine fizzy carbonation. Long lasting spicy finish. I pretty much liked this overall, the spicing was strong, but it didn’t get tiring, even after 22 ounces.

22 oz. bomber bottle, sampled in a weizen glass. Hazy appearance, reddish orange hued golden yellow in color, robust and rocky white head that slowly dissipated into a bubbly topped, creamy lacing, fair amount of sticky lace. Big hop aromas of citrus, namely orange peel and lemon juice, mildly spicy too. Light backing from the wheat malts, bread dough and grain crackers. Further whiffs reveal a subtle grapefruit pithiness. The carbonation gives the moderate body an airy creaminess, not a full and creamy feel like in a good hefeweizen, but more medium bodied like the one you would find in a decent pale wheat ale. The hops are predominant in the taste, a trio of citrus flavors, lemon zest, orange peel and oily grapefruits, before turning to an cleansing spiciness in the finish. The wheat malts don’t provide much of a backing, kinda of bland, just a dry grainy cracker, not saltine like, but a fat free and salt-less cracker. Finishes dry and spicy with a slight watery graininess. Overall, I enjoyed this anniversary ale from Middle Ages, wish I had a chance to try fresh from the tap last year.

Orange pour with a white head. Aroma of pear, yeast, spices and pale malt. Flavors of pear and pear skin...some wheat as well. Medium body, fruity/dry with a dry spicy finish.

dark gold, whispy white head that can be roused into producing a bit of lace, big sweet malt aroma with nice fruity character and a hint of citrus, lots of sweet malt flavor, lots of good spicy character, nice light lasting bitterness, very nice balance, a bit of tartness shows up in the finish after warming

Post-Mondial Tasting. Nose is toasted malt good wheat too, hazy yellow, small firm white head. Malty, wheat taste. Very full bodied, given the style, perhaps the abv helped, Very nice.

Bottle from kmweaver. Hazy amber body with a large beige head. The aroma is lightly sweet with lots of herbal hops and some caramel. The flavor is lightly sweet, cotton candy, biscuit, citrus, herbs and light caramel. Medium body is soft with light carbonation. This was surprisingly enjoyable.

Aroma of wheat and banana and sweetness. Flavor was a little wheat. Not bad but had a weird off taste to it that threw me off.
