Commercial Description:
This ESB (Extra Special Bitter) displays the subtle copery hue of "Old Gold." Its mighty depth of flavor will awaken taste buds and complements "pub" fare such as lamb and game. It is a natural accompaniment with spicy foods. Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Championships.

Pours medium golden peach, with a medium white head that races to recede leaving just a small coating of bubbles, laces is mostly non-existent. Aroma is apple, caramel, some hops, and a bunch of butterscotch. Flavor is a bit fruity, strong butterscotch, and ends with a decent bitter and spicy hoppiness. Medium bodied, quite dry ending.

Dark golden appearance with a good thick white head - good lacing. Has a bit of a phenholic aroma to it though. Decent bitter flavor with the right amount of fuggles hops. Would make a good session ale - even though the ABV is a little high for that.

Interesting, but disappointing, to some degree. Aroma is borderline chemical or plastic, as with their Tripel. Good color, highschool art project label. Chemical, overbrewed hops, somewhat tannic. Lightly sweet. Needs work, but it's at least interesting.

This is a very nice bitter. Orange/gold colored, mildly hoppy. Very nice to drink. I had it w/ pasta carbonara and it paired very well.

Bottled. Not a bad beer. Tasted as it should be. Stayed bitter all the way through.

Clear amber/orange body with a very small head. Aroma is hoppy and somewhat fruity. Thin and watery, with a moderate hop presence. Had an off metallic flavor.
