Bottle. From someone via trade many months ago. Thick, dark, syrupy pour. Smells like soy sauce, tastes like Soy Sauce, coffee and malt. So much malt, I don’t care to have another malty beer for some time. Way way way overdone. Gross.

Foam Rangers January meeting. Dark pour. Roasted malts, hops, coffee flavors. Decent.

Bomber: Oily superdark black pour with a frothey sienna head. Subtle dark malts surround floral hops in nose and then consume them entirely....as if the dragon had torn them apart. head concavly settles. Lots of roasted bitterness rings the tounge with a minor sweet caramel....like barbqued knights shish-ke-bobed on their lances, a bit of fat boils on their armor. 9.5% seems lofty since this one doesn’t puncch or announce itself. an abrupt turn for finish (lets make a 360 and get the F outa here! ...Yogi Berra) and ends with a gentle sweet finish. A trun from the bitter patent body. Does this make me the dragonslayer? or am I merely the prey?

I made the mistake of trying to rate this on a night with an espcially rolling chat room. Dark beer with brown highlights against the light. I got to the bottom before I realized I was supposed to rate this. It is Ratebeer.com after all. Foamy brown head. Nice aroma of chocolate with enough hops to give it promise. Standard mouthfeel for an Impy Stout. Coffee, chocolate, ash. Nice enough for the style.

Very black colour with a fading dark tan coloured head. The nose is alcoholic with brown sugar. Slightly acidic smelling actually. The body is expresso, raw coffee bean and warming immediately. A tongue drying stout with hops that just don’t work that well for this stout. There’s just a touch of plastic and acidity around the finish as well. A bit too many things going wrong here to make this a good imperial stout.

Black with beige head. Anti coffee hairs already standing. Surprise aroma and flavor dominated by bitter coffee grinds and burnt grain. Huge alcohol warming as well. Just not my thing.

Bottle coutesy of eaglefan538. Shared with TURBO had a sweet tobacco aroma. Black body with dark tan head and lots of lacing. Thick molases body texture with chocolate and coffeee flavors also prevelant. Smooth on the palate an ejoyable imperial stout.

650 ml bottle poured black with a thick creamy brown head and lacing that hung in one big sheet on the inside of my favorite glass. Aroma and flavor of rich,roasty burnt malts,coffee, dark chocolate and all that and a lightly sweet, bitter alcohol finish.
