Sweet and dry and thoroughly enjoyable. Pitch black pour with frothy dark tan head that quickly retreats. Delightful aroma of chocolate, molasses, plum, roasted and burnt malts. The flavors hint at chocolate, licorice and coffee with caramel and sweet dried fruit in the backbone. Full bodied with average carbonation. Bitter and very dry finish. Rich texture though somewhat gritty. A solid imperial stout all around.

Pour is black with a thinnish tan head...smell is lightly roasty but strongly fruity...cherries, raisins, plums, prunes, dates...sweet flavors too, with the same fruits each making an appearance...finishes sweet and cocoa...

Bomber shared with a buddy (Guinness guy). App.: deep cola with a large mocha head. Aroma: dark baker’s chocolate, coffee, wood, vanilla, molasses, licorice and piney green hops. Palate: med.-full body and med. carbonation. Flav.: salty, bitter, molasses, raisins and dark baker’s chocolate (burnt). Much drier than anticipated. Finishes with reasonable bitterness that sticks around and a bit of alcohol. For my palate, I would prefer an extra shot of malt and a bit of sweetness for balance. Guinness guy approved.

A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with very strong notes of prunes, while the flavor is sweet malty with the strongest component being chocolate, but also with notes of coffee.
