Aromas of good coffee roast, chocolate, and some light pine hops in the background. Flavors of roasted coffee, chocolate, a touch of liccorice, some caramel, and some toffee. Light pine hops on the finish. Full bodied with a carbonated soft mouthfeel. Pretty good stuff here.. Reminded me alot of Thirsty Dog.. Cartoonkhaki (1150), Brantford, Ontario, Canada

This thing was sitting in the fridge for two days calling me.
Dark black body. No light shines through this thing. Large head nice and brown. Black cherry, coffee, toffee, chocolate flavours all nicely burnt. Nice complimenting bitters. Slick palate. Very good. however expecting something just a bit more robust. dmradus (225), State College, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 2, 2006 Black as night with flashes of brown in direct light. Very thin but lasting brown head, leaving not so much a ’lace’ but more a ’coat’ around the glass. Aroma strong but muddled. A bit thin on the tongue but does coat the mouth. Very strong coffee notes at first, fading into bittersweet chocolate in the finish - a really nice blend of dark malt and bittering hops. Proud to say this brew is from my hometown. This beer was alittle thin for the style but overall a good beer. estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 17, 2006 22 oz bottle. Pours thick as tar with a dark creamy head. The aroma is very sweet with hints of chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and hop bitterness. I was hoping for a more sweet taste, but still enjoyed the huge chocolate and coffee flavor. It goes down very dry with little hint of the large ABV and a lingering bitterness...almost to long. This will taste even better this winter next to a warm fireplace. jason (1623), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Brought almost a floral aroma with sweet hop smell. Dark with thin head. Very first bitter taste that fades away as it warms. Served cold - very chocolatey with strong hop taste. Served room temp- Very well balanced with a great taste and palate, less chocolatey and the hops mellow out creating a really good stout. Not as thick as I hoped and defeniatly not a russian imperial as i would have though. Good brew. Cheers! ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 12, 2006 Bottle from Sean (illinismitty) Thanks! Pours out a dark black color with a dark tan head on it. Smell is dark fruits, chocolate, coffee, hops, and red wine. Taste is similar, very rich, and very unique. The wine like taste comes out very nicely, and throws a twist on an imperial stout. This is nothing like a standard imp stout that everyone is used to drinking. It has a good sweet quality to it that makes this one almost like a dark barley wine. The double IPA from this brewery was a very unique beer and this one follows in the footsteps of that. A different imperial stout that is highly drinkable and that I would have no problem getting anoter bottle. I am curious to see how this one would age out, as maybe some of the hop profile would die down, but this is one hell of an imperial stout.
