The flavor contains a lot of chocolate, raisins, and coffee. The finish is somewhat bitter and it hides the alcohol very well. Overall this was pretty good. skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 4, 2006 Pours a dark black with a creamy, tan head. Fairly hoppy in the aroma. A noticeable alcohol aroma and slight burn in the back. Malty, bubbly. Touch of charcoal makes it almost seem barrel aged, but this isn’t the barrel aged option. Good beer. Slightly astringent. frylock (1024), Buffalo, New York, USA
