Black with a tan head. Coffee , chocolate and some licorice make up the aroma. Starts with a chalky dry bitterness that covers most of the sweetness. The bitterness goes right to the finish.

Smooth. Kind of thin. No acidity which is nice. chocolate, and some darker fruits, maybe some dates and some raisins. kind of a wheaty flavor to it too. too thin for my liking though.

A black appearance with a beige head. A chocolate and dark fruit aroma. The flavor contains a lot of chocolate, raisins, and coffee. The finish is somewhat bitter and it hides the alcohol very well. Overall this was pretty good.

Lively hoppy aroma. Pours black with a nice lacing head. Drypaper and wood in the nose and on the tongue. Nice chocolate richness.

Pours a dark black with a creamy, tan head. Fairly hoppy in the aroma. A noticeable alcohol aroma and slight burn in the back. Malty, bubbly. Touch of charcoal makes it almost seem barrel aged, but this isn’t the barrel aged option. Good beer. Slightly astringent.

Nearly black with a mid sized kahki head. Roasty aroma with notes of coffee, smoke and toffee as well. Bitter roasted barley flavor, with some coffee, cocoa and very light smoke. Lightly buttery, ringwood flavor in the finish accompanied by some moderately bitter hops. Notes of licorice and plum linger on the tounge.
