Poured black with a brown head. Aroma of roasted coffee. Roasted coffee flavor with some chocolate bitterness and fruit in the finish. Dry finish. Awkward.

Fresh has way more hops than with some time on it. Gets sweeter and thicker. Fresh its more balanced. Roasted coffee and dark chocolate hints. Not bad not my fav.

Dave says that this is a beer that gives you head, a nice big, foamy lid that leaves patches of lace on the glass. Stout aroma with some coffee and yeast and a little skank. Fairly smooth on the palate, with a strong coffee flavor and sharp, herbal hops. Dry overall with alcohol warmth coming in midswallow. A potent, good tastings stout that makes a nice companion to Middle Ages Wailing Wench. I would have rated it even higher, but for the touch of skank in the flavor and aroma.

Bottle that has been in the back of my cellar for some time. I kept thinking I’d hat this, guess not. Pours black black and black, I don’t really know why a dragon slayer would be a black knight, but ok whatever, I’m not going to get crazy critical. Head is light brown, so signs point to better than expected right now. Nose is boozy and sweet and totally syrupy. Taste is sweet and syrupy and in a sentence a total mess.

Shared by some nice soul at the Sexual Chocolate release. Pour a dark black with a two finger creamy chestnut brown head. The nose is fruity, chocolaty, mildly peaty, some roast and coffee bitterness. The flavor is thick, roasty, also mildly peaty with some smoky flavors, chocolaty. Palate has a dark bitter chocolate feel.
