Bomber. Appearance: Nice oil slick black with legs, creamy baileys coloured head. Aroma: Lots of hops, burnt malt, chocolate, coffee, baileys like cream, toast, peat and a little alcohol. Delicious. Flavour: Strong malt, liquorice, dandelion, bitter coffee, chocolate with a hello of a lot of hops in the finish. Delicious. Mightn’t have been the cleverest idea to open this on my own late at night..... no work tomorrow though :-)

This is certainly more of a european style imperial stout. Though it may have attributes of an american stout such as the upfront coffee taste and the high abv, but the overall body and hop profile is definitely more akin to a samuel smith’s imperial stout than an old rasputin. The european hops are not quite as strong, which is good if you like a more balanced stout. Interesting beer, but doesn’t really stand out in the american microbrew scene with the market already glutted by all the other imperial stouts out there.

A Mes rate. Bottle at Borefts 10am day after hotel tasting.
Fully black with a tan head. Plenty of thick luscious malt, good roasty notes, lashings of coffee and some late bitterness that lasts considerably. Straight down the line but good.

Pours a nice deep black color wit ha thin tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, some nice hop undertones. Flavor is similar but a bit heavy on the bitter side with some lingering burnt coffee notes, but nothing that kills the beer. Good palate if just a touch bitter. Nice Impy.

Bottle 65cl. @ post Borefts BF 09 hotel tasting
Clear medium to dark black color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, light brown head. Aroma is light heavy malty, dark roasted, burnt, coffee, overripped raisin. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and heavy burnt malt bitter with a long long duration, and a dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091031]

Bottle Pours a good black with a tan head. Yhe head is lasting and creamy. The lacing is perfect. Has a sweet aroma of chocolate, roast,, and some hops. Has a good carbonation. The flavor is good. Not too heavy. Has a good mix and blended well. Alcohol is well hidden. Has a resiny texture. The body is medium. The finish is good but not really bold and it has a good aftertaste. This is very tasty not as hearty as some stout but is a good drinking beer. A touch on the lighter side but very good.

22oz bottle. Pours ink black with a one finger thick tan / chocolate head, spotty lacing. Nose is dominate with cocoa, toffee, hints of coffee and light oxidation. Flavor held some bittersweet chocolate, toffee and a touch of booze. Great carbonation with this brew.
