Commercial Description:
An epic barleywine, made in the tradition of British Farmhouse Brewing. Lavished with a velvety blend of six different malts this is a warming beer with a lush mouthfeel. The complexities your discriminating palate will detect are ever changing as this barleywine matures. When young, an assertive hop character predominates and with age the beauty of the big malt balance unfolds.

Golden colour with a frothy off-white head. Caramel and fruit aroma with light alcohol notes. Lightish body for the style is the first impression upon tasting, to go along with orange, pine, woody, light caramel, and other citrus flavours. Medium bodied but still syrupy.

Bottle. Nice amber body, small white head. Green leafy hoppiness over boozer notes in teh aroma. Flavour has a pleasant moderate hop flavour and bitterness over a moderate malty middle. Easy to drink, though a touch simplistic at times. Medium to full bodied. Quite nice but not mind blowing.

[tap @ Sunset Grill 3/15/06] Looks awesome.. pours a nice reddish brown, with a black fade towards the center. Flavors are smooth malts, nice, flowery hops- nothing too harsh. Very nice.

Thanks for sharing this one Mike! Deep brown liquid topped with a good sized beige head. Hops are up front, vanilla yogurt, molasses, and malt. Sweet caramel with good hop backbone and some chocolate. Slightly fizzy, ABV not detectable. Probably a little too carbonated. Good. Thanks again Sarge! :)

bottle from eyedrinkale. murky amber, with an english hoppy stoms. lots of malt to support very generous hopping, with woody earthy bitterness throughout. slightly oxidized but not offensively - fresher is probably better. thanks mike!

Bottle courtesy of Pailhead. dark copper/amber with no head whatsoever. Aroma very muted, sweet carmel malt, seems very musty and cardboardy with some fruit in the background. Flavor much the same, except a drying alcohol in the finish. No idea on the age of the bottle, would assume at least a year or two old, as there are no hops detectable whatsoever, and the cardboardy character is beginning to take over.
