The nose is very similar to a high-hopped IPA? Very orange citrus. Excellent oily texture but incredibly hopped. I've got to let this age because right-now its puzzling that its categorized as a barleywine. Tart cascadde hop finish. Very good? Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA

Smallish head if any with a great balance of the different malts used. If you love malt like I do, you will love this stuff. Hopistotle420 (1178), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 27, 2004 Cloudy red/orange amber. Frothy dissipating head. Sweet, orange citrus nose. Ive let this sit around for a year, and the hops have subdued a bit, big butterscotch, caramel malts, cherry, medium bodied, finishing with hoppy, bitter finesse. A nice easy drinker, very balanced and quaffable, especially after a year of chillin... DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 25, 2004 Hoppy aroma, with some malt, cloudy ruby, pours a large vanilla custard head, with a sheet of lace. Hops at first, creamy malt and some butterscotch follows. Full bodied, great considering the hop profile. Seems more like an Imperial I.P.A.? crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 15, 2004 Much to its commercial description its hoppy presance certainly dominated its flavor. There was some sweet alcohol notes to it, but nothing to take away from the overall hoppiness. Aroma was intresting sweet like fruit with hints of oak. DYCSoccer17 (2192), Davis, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 13, 2004 Pours moderately cloudy amber with a 1.0 cm white head thats quickly dissipating. Aroma is very pleasant--fruity apples and berries. Sweet, and fruity in the start and middle. Huge hops in the finish. Hides ethanol well. A very good, and underrated barleywine. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 6, 2004 Pours a deep dark copper with a thick lacey off-white head. Sweet caramely malt and fresh hop aroma. Body starts caramely sweet and malty before turning more bitter, yet florally hoppy. Finishes semi-sweet and dry and Seems to have all the elements of a great barleywine, but they just don't blend together as well as they could. A nice beer nonetheless. Thanks Pabobcat!
