Commercial Description:
An epic barleywine, made in the tradition of British Farmhouse Brewing. Lavished with a velvety blend of six different malts this is a warming beer with a lush mouthfeel. The complexities your discriminating palate will detect are ever changing as this barleywine matures. When young, an assertive hop character predominates and with age the beauty of the big malt balance unfolds.

A hazy red beer with a nice dense off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel as well as some hops - the alcohol is not present. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and hops - again - the alcohol can’t be tasted, but it burs the mouth slightly. The end is dry, bitter, and a little woody - a nice Barley Wine.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of Kramer17801. Slightly hazy, dark amber with a white, creamy head. Aroma of citrus and overripe fruit. Medium body with sweetish accents of caramel and then a dry finish without much bitterness. A middle-of-the-road Barley Wine. 060407

Red-orange. Rounded and bitter with citrus aroma. Complex and malty. Just my type of beer.

Bottle. Clear orange coloured with an off white head. Aroma of fruits, spices, hops and pine needles. Flavour of fruits, spices, hops and pine needles. Tastes more like imperial brown ale than barley wine.

Rather mild, but tasty barley wine.

Bottle at The Brickskeller, Washington DC
Hazy light amber color. Light caramel aroma and medium caramel flavor; strong bitterness, above average. More a generic American Strong Ale than a Barley Wine, it doesn’t have the malt flavor, and it has just partially some hop resins. It lacks any depth.
