Something mildly biting in the aroma, but I can’t place it. Some initial malt sweetness, but there is something anti-septic and unpleasant in the flavor. Decent mouthfeel, but the flavor is again something you want out of your mout fast.
Decent beer ruined by an odd flavor. jimhilt (1693), Bow, New Hampshire, USA

Clear amber color. Nose is faint hops. Light-medium bodied. Light carbonation. Starts hoppy/sweet, finishes hoppy but no aftertaste. $1.80 for a 12oz bottle from Oliver’s Beverage Albany, NY. trigeek (9), Athens, Georgia, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 17, 2004 I found the aroma of this beer much more pleasing that most other raters. Hints of fig stood out to me. The flavor was definitely malty with only a very mild hopping that was overall bland. Not a bad beer but nothing too impressive Dorwart (1831), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 8, 2004 Excellent frothy head with low carbonation. Head lasts for a little while. Aroma has some roasted grains and malt with a hint of warm pizza. Color is a dark copper/amber. More roasted quality in the flavor with a hint of smoke and some hops. Dry finish with a nice hop bitterness. An ok amber ale but nothing special. CaptainCougar (5544), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma is dry with a touch of caramel malt. Body starts thin and fizzy with an attempt at smoke and mild caramel. Finishes dry and effervescent with some faint hops and roasted malt. Sweet and malty with a slightly smokey taste which made this stand out a bit. Ambers are usually too sweet for my liking but this was very good. JPDIPSO (4944), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA

Dark caramel and chocolate mixed with a mild pine wood. Quite effervecant and light. Real english malt character with light raisins and hopsack flavor. I’ve made something like this. Mine was to be brown ale but fermented out to far and got this and fizzy. This reminds me of a mild with a touch to much alcohol. CapFlu (3494), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Next to no carbonation. Nose of roasted nuts and caramel - intensely sweet. Flavour of caramel and slight cotton candy. Mildy tart mid-palette with a bitter finish. Very enjoyable! I love these guys!
