| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 8, 2006 Bottle. Clear dark copper/brown with a thin mostly diminishing head. Aroma of biscuity malt, butterscotch, straw, pecans and some soapy yeast. Classic English ale flavor of bittersweet malt tempered by bit of hop at the finish. Light to medium palate. Nothing to do backflips over, but this would be right at home in any classic publick house in the old country. Get me some darts... Grandpa (325), Verona, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 9, 2006 A clear, dark amber brew with a small head. More malt and more hops than a typical amber. Nicely balanced though and refreshing on a hot day. Hoppier than normal is a house characteristic for all of their styles. In this case it improved the end result. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 18, 2006 Pours a dark amber orangy color with good fluffy head that only slowly diminishes.
Smells like malt and somewhat like citrus with caramel thrown in for good measure.
Smooth taste, medium malt comes forth with a lightly hopped aftertaste.
Mouthfeel is very light, much lighter and easier to drink than the smell would lead one to think. Drinkability is also good doesn’t slide down, but then it also doesn’t fight. obxdude10 (1558), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2006 Very deep amber color with a copper-tinted head, very nice lacing around the glass, nose full of yeast & rich malt, rather light in the body but yet very drinkable, nothing really all that outstanding though, flavors are a bit thin making this amber a very average one, this has a very pronounced malt profile with hints of spicy hops, caramel & lemon, very complex finish though with a nice combination of light hops & yeasty malt, very bready in the aftertaste as well
