Not over hopped, but comes with a nice bitter finish. Sweet notes all throughout the beer. Overall well-balanced, with a nice mouthfeel. freekyp (903), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 28, 2009 Updated: Aug 9, 2009Bottle version. Big toffee aroma with a bit of fruitiness also shows a bit of peatiness. Missing any floral notes. Pours a deep copper with a thick sticky beige head. Medium bodied with a tight quick carbonation. Long aggressive bitter finish that comes across as somewhat aggressive. Malt character is there coming across in the middle of the swallow with a light sweetness but it is eventually overwhelmed with the intrusive bittering hop finish. Aroma hops take a back seat and the beer does not really showcase its Cascade heritage. 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 23, 2009 I also had this one at the Blue Tusk. I am not usually a fan of english style ales but this one was very solid. Good hops up front which flowed into a very mellow but not that usual semi skunky british vibe. Very nice session beer, could probably enjoy 1 or 2 in a sitting before having to move on. Tanker12 (130), USA
