The aroma was light, citrus and malty. The flavor was light caramel and malts. This was not a hoppy IPA at all. It was alright. hiddenvariable (194), pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Lots of hop character with a nice smooth finish. A little warming taste sensation comes with the alcohol, but in pleasant way. Traditional English taste, with an American ABV. hophead75 (1959), Boonton, New Jersey, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Pours a very slightly hazed amber with a light tan gead that really sticks around. I cannot remember the last time I saw this much retension of head, so I am going to give this one a 5 on appearance. Nose is very hoppy with those pine and citrus tones. The flavor is subdued and doesn’t present itself as a hop bomb or that style. It is more of a gentle hopped ale. Feel is thick with bubbles and slightly meaty on the liquid. Definitely drinkable. It is a smooth and even IPA that doesn’t have any overly showy attributres. I would be interested to see what this one is like on tap...or better yet on cask. kp (8396), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2007 cask- never had this in the bottle, but would be interested to try. Not your typical west coast IPA. Light brown/amber in color, smells of faint cascades, but aroma is dominated by some yeasty notes. There is minimal bitterness in the finish. Not great. emobassfoo (178), Webster, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 9, 2007 Rated while drinking: Pours a light-hued amber with a nice frothy white head. Smells of buttery malt, and something sweet. Kind of smells like muffins or biscuits, or even mozzarella and green beans! Tastes like that buttery taste again (Fuggles?), balanced by some bitter hops and some sort of herb/spice hiding in there... sweet but tart. Way too easy on the palate for 6.5. Smooth and refreshing, with a bit of chalk on the finish. All in all, a very tasty beer, from a very tasty brewery!
