# 12 Bottle. [Papsoe’s great blind tasting, thanks Henrik!] Small light creamy off-white head that mostly diminished. Fair lacework. Clear flat looking amber color. Aroma of wood, alcohol, berries, cherry like, raisins, fruit. Over the palate came bourbon, dried fruit and alcohol. Full bodied with a soft carbonation and alcoholic thick texture. Moderated sweet flavor with hint of bitter and acidic. Lingering wood and fruity finish. 8-4-8-4-17 = 4.1 19-04-2008

Bottle; pours a dark brown; very dark. Medium, light brown head. Aroma was, as expected, malty. Toffee, roasted malt, yeast, fruit and a slight amount of smoke/peat. Some caramel began to emerge with time. Palate was solid, not spectacular. Flavor had a lot more smoky presence than the aroma. Also, some caramel and some fruit. Tasty, but perhaps too simplistic.

Bottle. Pours a reddish brown with a quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma of malts, caramel and molasses. Taste of malts, molasses, caramel and some chocolate. Well-balanced, warm and no alochol edge despite the 9%. One of the better Scotch Ales I’ve had.
