Commercial Description:
A Scottish "90/-" ale. Brewed only once a year, this ale is rich and full with a dryness that is beautifully balanced with a classic malt sweetness.

Cask at Brazen Head. Dark brown with a beige head. Chocolatey, earthy and smoky aroma. Flavor of light molasses malt with a mild acidity and underlying earthy and smoky notes. Pretty decent Scotch ale cask pump. Nice companion to free cheese and cracker Wednesday.

22oz 2007 bottle purchased at the brewery and consumed 2008. Approx 8 months aged. The color is a deep brown with red/purple highlights. The head is limited to some swirls of white cream. The aroma is rich and creamy malt, dark fruit, and alcohol. There really isn’t much smoke, which is disappointing. Flavor reflects the aroma. Overall a nice smooth scotch ale, and well aged.

Thanks abcfan. Pours a nice dark brown brew with some ruby undertones. Two finger thick creamy tan head. The aroma is sweet, malty, raisins, caramel, alcohol, and a little fruit. Flavor is dry alcohol, sweet, malty, raisiny, a little waxy on the mouthfeel. Nice scotch ale.

The color was very dark brown/red. The head was creamy light tan. The aroma was sweet malt, spice, and dry. The flavor was sweet malt and a lot of spice. The palate was medium-bodied. The finish warm.

This beer is very tasty for having 9% alc. Pours a very dark copper color with a thin tan head. Smells very fruity and has a very smooth/sweet finish. Would drink again.

Cask at Barcade: Very dark pour with a creamy tan head. The nose has roasted malts, dark cocoa, and mild peat hints. Fluffy body with mild carbonation. The malts give off some dark chocolate roast upfront. It also has some mild tart-ish sour dough character. The finish has a late roastiness. Not much to it, and lacking harmony in the flavor.

22 oz bomber purchased at Capones. Fantastic aroma starts off with big notes of rum soaked bread, dark fruit, and laots of roastiness. Body was a little light for my taste and had a slight acidic aftertaste. Flavor is a big let down from the impressive aroma. Tastes of chocolate, peat and vinegar. Thought this was going to be a lot better then this was especially after the fantastic start.

22oz Bomber. This is an awesome big beer. Full roasted flavor with a smooth creamy finish. Thick and black in color. Quite mellow for a beer of 9%. Very recommended.
