Dark brown, almost black in color with a large tan head. Smoky, roasted malt flavor and aroma. Excessive carbonation takes a little away from this beer. Probably would have rated it a couple points higher otherwise.

described on bottle as a scotch ale combined with the regal flourish of a rich porter. pours black with a large tan head..very over carbonated..smokey, roasted flavors..chalky mouthfeel aside from the overcarbonation..but decent/

nice roast porter. Carbonation a tad on the aggressive side, but very fresh from the brewery. Nice dark colour and roast aroma. Small head. Scotch in the taste

Pours a light tan, two finger-head that goes slowly leaving a good lace. Very deep amber color. Light carbonation. Medium bodied. Nose is raisiny. Starts semi-sweet with hops in the background, finishes smooth. $3.55 for a 12oz bottle from Oliver’s Beverage Albany, NY.

Yet another beer that ignores the discription of the style/ This beer is dark brown approaching black. Large frothy brown head. Aroma is sweet, slight fruity. We’re dark up to now, but okay. Flavor is very burnt, almost like a rauchbier. I like porter and is aiin’t one, although it would do well as a dry stout. Medium bodied, very carbonated. Balanced finish.

Way too much roasted barley for a porter, and not too smooth either. Appearance is good however. Nice dark brown almost black with a huge large-bubbled head which subsides to a nice slight to mod. head. Leaves some lace as well. Aroma has slight smokiness but is dominated by roasted malts. Flavor is roasted and some caramel malts but the heavy carbonation ruins much of the flavor and mouthfeel. Would be a lot better if it wasnt so carbonated.

Sour ascetic aroma. Dark body. Fair head. Bitter and sour. Thin coffee and chocolate. An extra point for the Ron Jeremy look alike on the label.

On tap at Middle Ages Brewery, Syracuse NY: Decent, chocolatey, toffee, and toasted flavored hybrid that’s not quite as good as the Flying Dog IMHO. Quite drinkable.
