Bottle - from sampler pack. Very dark. Very good. Quite strong and robust. Definite roasty flavor.

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours dark with a decent size tan head. Aroma of fruit, roast, and smoke. The flavor is sweet, fruit, slight roast present in flavor, smoke, and a nice hoppy bite.

Pous a deep dark brown that barly lets light thru it. Quickly dissipating pale tan head which fizzed like soda. After which decent but not overwhelming carbonation prevails. A malty and slightly bitter body ends abruptly with sticky lacing. not bat for 1.50 a bottle at the local rip and run.

Beautiful looking thick tan head, dark, dark reddish brown. Very chocolaty nose with cherries, raisins, alcohol, and port hints. By now I am starting to get really excited and anticipitory, but the palate is a bit thin at 1st. It grew on me as it warmed. Got more velvety. Had a sticky back feel to it, and a nice dry hops finish.

12 oz bottle. Nice dark brown color. No real aroma. Taste is malty and kind of spicy. Tastes like a scotch ale to me. There is a hint of porter-ness to this brew, but for the most part, I get a rather standard scotch ale flavor going on. Pretty good.

12 oz bottle, via ffej. Pours a very dark brown colored body under a fizzy beige head that faded to a thin ring. Nose is chocolaty at first, but then a smidge of peat smoked malt sneaks in as it gets warmer. Very much malt dominated, with no discernable hops. Flavor wise, I don’t think that the combo is working too well. The chocolate malt is obscured too much by the slightly grainy sweet fruitiness. The hybrid just clashes to me. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate slightly prickly fizzy carbonation. Just a little sticky on the finish. Overall, this just didn’t work for me. I like brewers who try new things, but this one was a miss.

Bottle. Aroma roasted malt and tad of chocolate and a tad of smoke. Poured a dark black. Flavor was okay had the main elements described in the nose but an odd sweetness to it. Palate was moderate with a creamy feel to it. Overall this was an okay brew.

Cask at House of Brews. Dark black beer. Aroma is very malty and sweet with dark toasted malts, chicory and chocolate with a bit of herbal character as well. Creamy texture with earthy dustiness over a sweet cherry accented chocolate malt. Herbal bitterness, but the beer tends to the sweet side. More porter than scotch ale, but decent enough either way.
