Nov 28, 2006 Bottle from Jeff (doclock) Thanks. Pours out a black color with a tan head. Smell is roasted malty flavors, some chocolate, and some coffee. Taste is smooth and rich with a medium body. Not too thick, and pretty easy to drink. A little bt of a sour taste that was pretty good. I liked it, a pretty unique porter.

Oct 24, 2006 Thank you DocLock for this. Pours an almost black with a small off white head. Aroma and flavor is slight smoke and roasted nut. Also has a little tartness and spices. Pretty darn good.

Sep 25, 2006 (06.30.06) On tap at the Hop Devil Grill, NYC. Poured opaque black with small white head. No discernable carbonation. Roasted malt and licorice aromas. Medium bodied porter that starts with light malt sweetness and roasted malt/licorice flavors. Finished with light hop bitterness. On thin and watery side but drinkable.

Sep 14, 2006 Very dark brown or amber. With a tan head that goes quick. Thick malty aroma with burnt hits peeking through. Smooth oily palate with rich rosted flavours light dark chocolate and malt.

Aug 25, 2006 Porter roast hoppy sock macadam chocolate aroma. Black brown bear with tan spotty head. Sticky sweet artifice werd roast chocolate flavor. ferment and odd produce. Light bitter roast aftertaste. just ok.

Jul 3, 2006 Excellent porter, just about black in color with only a purplish hue, small tan head but great lacing around the glass, aroma was of dark-brewed coffee, light-medium body, very smooth, velvetity texture, very drinkable, deep roasted flavors with notes of coffee & dark chocolate, slight licroce note in the finish & aftertaste, lots of roasted malt as well, overall a great porter

Jun 21, 2006 I am not sure but don’t the Scots and Brits not get along? Cause if this beer is any marker then the should stay away from each other. This beer was a mess when I tried it last night on tap at the Hop Devil Grill. It poured deceptively enough - black with a small head. But the smell was like a soury lactose thing with some roastiness but barely. Taste was similar. It was watery and thin. I have noticed that Middle Ages tries to mix things up (i.e. Triple Crown) but this was bad. Didn’t even finish the pint. I like the idea of a Scotch/Porter but bad execution.
