The aroma is sweet and very malty with notes of caramel and pumpernickle bread. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of pumpernickle bread combined with a light alcohol tickle on the palate, and also a light note of metal from the alcohol, leading to a bitter finish. The body is thin. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. Papsoe (14996), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 6, 2003 Nearly opaque with only the faintest red light coming through. Has a thick well-lacing tan head. Sweet caramel, light peat and roasted malts fill the aroma. I'd agree with Clark VV that this seems confused. It's a little thin with an initial Scottish ale flavor, finishing more like a porter with roasted chocolate. This could probably make two really good beers if the two were separate. A novel idea nonetheless, and still quite tasty.
