Commercial Description:
Cellar aged, subtly complex and deceptively strong. Using two of the old world's brewing traditions, we have combined British ingredients and methods with Belgian ale qualities.

A dark orange appearance. A nice floral orangey aroma. The flavor is quite creamy with some oranges and honey. The aftertaste is a bit on the sweet side. One of the more enjoyable Tripels Ive had lately. Thanks Wunderbier.

Poured a hazy orange with a small off-white head. When I first opened the bottle I got a little fruit and diacetyl. After two minutes it was all butterscotch. Flavor of sweet malt that lasts for 2-3 seconds and then becomes alcohol (peppery) and bitter. Very warming and alcohol not hidden well in the flavor. Butterscotch coming out in the flavor. Finish is too peppery. Medium body. Maybe I will rerate this. Mine is 1-2 years old but a 10% tripel should be able to handle that no problem.

Pours a crystal clear golden amber color with a moderate off white head. Did not appear to be bottle conditioned, not even a slight haze. Light booze in the aroma, light fruit. Fairly empty flavor, just some light fruit, some alcohol and some diacetyl. Pretty smooth and full bodied, alcohol is pretty well hidden, but not entirely. Fairly bland, especially considering the abv and the general style they’re going for.

Bottle: Not bottle conditioned. A British style ale/abbey tripel? This is an interesting take on the style. Bright, clear amber color with a small to medium white head. Aroma is alcohol, orange, whiskey, spicy grains, apple, banana, butterscotch, pear, and caramel. Taste is initially hoppy with notes of alcohol, then turns into whiskey, orange, pepper, banana, clove, anise, bread, cookie, and a lightly burnt caramel. Finish is an earthy hops, bitter caramel, and a slight alcohol burn. Interesting and unique.

This was definitely unique. Pours out a golden colour witha a bit of orange and a moderate white head. Aroma is very spicy with justh ints of fruit and the taste is the same. IThis isn’t like other tripels I’ve tried, I definitely prefer more fruit flavour. Points for trying something different though.

Appearance: clear, light aamber color, with a short, disppearing head Aroma: strong, whiskeyish, powerful, grain-inflected, and, as it unfolds, feeling more like cognac. I approach this ale without researching it at all, only the bottle to go by, with no mention of ABV, and no style info at all. It says "British Style Ale", but also suggests Belgium with the "Tripel" in it’s name, and I’ve got no idea what I’m getting into, certainly had no idea it was this strong! Fierce, buzzing, boozy! A slightly sophisticated malt liquor, the body is a bit too thin for the strength. Hops are hardly here, if at all, with some fruitiness shining through, a little orange and peach on the palate, but still burning hot! Perhaps it’s meant as a marriage between a tripel and a pale ale, or a bitter? Anyway, a most unusual brew, that I’m sure I would spend more time getting better acquanted with, if it weren’t half a continent away

On tap at the brewery.Filtered triple. Some yeast there, cloves and pepper but not exceptional fruit aroma. Very high alcohol, not well disguised.

Bottle, from Halftime.Good aroma, fruity, banana, apple, figs, rum, candied sugar. Hazy brownish orange color. Small to no head. Sweet flavors, apple, banana, carmel, whiskey. Medium body, lite creamy/syrupy mouthfeel, dry fruity finish. Pretty enjoyable, I like the twist on the style.
