Commercial Description:
Cellar aged, subtly complex and deceptively strong. Using two of the old world's brewing traditions, we have combined British ingredients and methods with Belgian ale qualities.

(Bottle) Pours a thin, yellow head and a slightly clouded amber body. Nose of mild cask whiskey, marshmellows and hops. As mentioned below, very sweet aroma to this beer. Mild barleywine flavours to it. Very good!

Pours a syrupy gold. Very dextrinous and full of fruitiness in the nose along with some alcohol. Intensely sweet, and yeah really cloying. The only thing really enjoyable is the ABV. Needs way more hops for this much residual sugars. Could be good if they mashed at a much lower temp.

This is last years bottling. Pours a gorgeous golden-orange. Small whitish head, plenty of lacing. Sweet, peach, honey, alcohol nose. My notes of the same bottling of last years show the alcohol was much more prevalent. This time around its definately there, yet much more palatable. Sweet, cookie malts, dried apricot/peaches, slightly sour, smooth lightly syrupy body, big alcohol, finishing a bit pruney, earthen bitter hops. Make sure you get a taste of this warm! A very delectable, unique beer...WOOHOO...10.2!

Pours a hazy orange with a thin white whispy head. Sweet caramel malty aroma with some Belgian yeast present. Sweet butterscotch start turns to an abrasive peppery alcohol finish. Subtle complexity throughout. This definitely needs some more balance and to hide its alcohol better.

Has that berry smell that many high alcohol beers seem to have. Also a good dose of coriander in the aroma and some citrus fruits too. A little dark in color for the style. An English twist on a tripel for sure: tastes like a pale ale in the middle. Very, very sweet. Normally I do not like tasting alcohol, but with this one the alcoholic taste is interesting. It is in the middle of the mouth, rather than the finish. Quite hoppy throughout. I'm not sure this fits the style, but is a very interesting tasting brew with alcohol, malts, hops and coriander all present. Tries to be everything to every part of the palate and confuses you in the process.

Pleasantly surprised to say the least - has a dark orange appearance with a decent thick white head. Candy like sweetness to the aroma. Flavor has some sweet notes with a little bit of alcohol notes in the back end. Decent mouthfeel and the alcohol is tamed well enough to be drinkable. Intersting rendition of a Belgian - was not expecting this when I saw the bottle.

Interesting aroma, bordering on the chemical or plastic. Almost tastes like a beer that's been through a protein drop. Sweet, yeasty, fruity and alcoholic. Pretty complex, bitter builds. Starchy palate, alcohol bitter finish. Good label, nice foil top.
