Nose was a bit of spice and some fruity/caramel. Flavor ends very fast on the tongue as it begins to tastes acrid.Still a chance to taste a brew from the East Coast. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 10, 2006 Bottle courtesy of Sammy: Poured a deep orangey color ale with a foamy head with good retention. Aroma is quite sweet with some faint alcoholic notes. Taste is a mix between sweet malt and some faint spices. Body is extremely full and alcohol does show a little bit but nothing overwhelming. This beer is almost bordering on a barleywine and, while not as good, is kind of similar to the Gouden Carolus Keizer. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 9, 2006 Orange/ amber color with no head. Smells very fruity. Pretty hard to describe the taste. Fruit flavor then buttery notes then hop finish. A very strange triple to say the least. beastiefan2k (1605), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 22, 2006 12oz bottle poured into a wine glass. Pours see through orange-amber with a small head. The aroma is malty and sugary-sweet. Taste is kind of weird, seems like a weird spice. No alcohol present, a pretty light body as well. All taste fades away leaving a slightly sweet aftertaste. Not a bad beer overall, would never tell its this strong. In general, sweet. Miguel (1181), Saint-Ours, Quebec, Canada

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 28, 2006 From Bottle. Slightly orangish amber pour with a soapy white head that recedes to a thin white ring. Somewhat boozey aroma of dry sherry and cherry licorice. Some vanilla, apple, and green raisin aromas as well. The flavor is basically an extra powerful version of the aroma sensation, but much stronger and with a firm musty bite, almost like a Danish bleu cheese. Some hints of apricot brandy toward the finish. In short- sweet sherry vinous flavors with a musty horseblanket finish. Very interesting brew overall, and unlike anything I’ve ever had before. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 16, 2006 Bottle. Pours a orange gold with almost no head. Not very carbonated. Nose is fruit and alcohol. The caramel port flavors jump out at you in conjunction with the alcohol. Nice citrus(lemon) flavors in the finish. Nice brew to sip, but definately not a session. Interesting blend that I can’t say I minded especially in the winter in front of the fireplace.
