This reddish brown pour had a light brown head. It smells of pine, earth, hops and sweet malt. There is a nice hop malt balance in the flavor and it has a nice amount of bitterness though it remains smooth and drinkable throughout.

Bomber. Poured deep reddish-brown with rising carbonation and a short cap of tan head. The aroma picked up plenty of pine, tangerine, and grapefruit hoppage over alcohol-fueled caramel, earth, and some reddish fruits.. I like the hop usage (which may be slightly muted due to age), but it doesn’t mesh too well with the malt supports. The flavor picked up a whole bunch of drawn caramel when this had time to breathe (the aroma did as well).. nicely-layered citrus fruits (tangerine and grapefruit again), English toffee, and darker fruits play well with the caramel backing and make this quite tasty! No more than medium-bodied on the palate with rising bitterness through about 10 seconds after the finish.. again I like the hop usage here. This was more of a hopped-up strong amber ale than a DIPA, but was solid nevertheless.

Pours a small tan head with fair retention and some nice coating lace. Clear amber hued brew with a nice red glow when held up to the light. Nose is malty up front, caramel, earthy with some faint pineyness and some brown sugar. Body is large, lightly oily and palate coating, good carbonation level. Lightly sweet maltiness, caramel thickness backed by some earthy hops, toffee, faint oxydation works nicely here. Finish is almost dry with one whopper of a hop bite to finish you off. Light alc. notes as it warms. One solid ASA. I get the feeling this might age fairly gracefully for at least a couple years. Bomber acquired in a trade with coldbrewky. Thanks Stevely!!

From 22 oz bottle poured dark hazlenut color with nice off-white head. Easy drinkability with very spicy, sweet aftertaste. Not my preference in beer.

Bottle purchased at Sam the Beer Man in Binghamton, NY. Pours ruby caramel off white head. Aroma is tangerine, kiwi, toffee, vanilla. Flavor is the same, creamy and bitter. Really cheesy label too.

22 oz bottle. A Dark brown ale with a powerful hop taste thoughout. Smells amazing. Very similar to Weyerbacher Double Simcoe.

Dark brown color with decent head. Buttery malt aroma of butterscotch, caramel, and toffee mixed with a little fruit and some hops. Aromatically English. American strong ale emerges upon taste. Floral hops more apparent after warming to room temperature, but essentially the malt caries the day. There is a dry powdery yeast-like substance that attachs to the tongue and confuses my palate. Dry finish disappears for a short while only to make a tongue curling return. Different.

A great beer by Middle Ages. Easily consumed and flavorful with notes of citrus in the finish. Great Amber red color with staying head.
