| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 29, 2007 From 75 cL bottle, thanks to Storm. Pours hazy amber with a white head. Quite fruity aroma with a distinct grapefruit note. Very dry almost woody flavour which then turns to a quite fruity and almost citric fruity flavour. Finish is dry and citric. Too much dryness for my liking. JCB (1786), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 27, 2007 22oz bottle. Strange that this is labeled as a DIPA, when it’s clearly an Arrogant Bastard clone with a bit more torque. It’s competent I suppose, but pretty uninteresting. Deep amber, fluffy head, biting hops. nuplastikk (1218), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Sep 21, 2007 An awesome ale from Middle Ages. Dark amber brown colored...looks filtered. not murky. Very nice hop bitterness throughtout. Thick caramel hop syrup aftertaste. Perfect malt and hop balance, not as one dimensional as some double IPAs. Great beer. swoopjones (1920), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 27, 2007 draft. pours dark brown with a tan head. nice aroma of caramel and hops. the flavor is a mod - high bitter with a slightly grassy edge over a malt and molasses. unfortunately, i also taste the soapy edge that is present in their swallow wit - must be the variety of hops. this has a lot of potential , and is an interesting variation on the imperial but the acidic, soap doesn’t sit with me. other folks don’t interpret that flavor as such though (in this beer and others), so don’t let this review turn you off. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 24, 2007 Updated: Aug 27, 2007Sampled on draft at Zeno’s in State College PA this beer poured a dark chestnut color with a very small tan head. The aroma was an odd with notes of caramel and toffee. The flavor was very bitter, tangy caramel with an odd yet undesirably off flavor and a hint of smoke. The beer was rather flat. Eh.
