| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 2, 2007 Good solid beer overall. Very VERY hoppy. The aroma is sweet, noticable citrus and spruce hoppyness, caramel malts. The color is a nice ruby red. The flavor is that of an IPA, very aggressively hopped, with the bitterness offset by what could be described as a grapefruit/citrusy flavor. The mouthfeel is thin to medium, and the finish is very long, and a little bitter. IPA’s are not usually my thing. but I happen to like this beer a lot. yesyouam (609), Fairport, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 26, 2007 Wailing Wench is a crystal-clear mahogany ale with a creamy yellow-beige head. The aroma is sweet like cookies and butterscotch with fresh hops that are grassy and floral. It has a smooth, solid medium body that’s fluffy and soft. It’s well bittered and a bit top heavy. It gets more bitter near the end and lingers for a long time. It has a bit of a home brew flavor. The bittering hops mask the flavor of the malt. The hop flavor leans toward grapefruit. The sweetness is only present when it touches the tongue. Good stuff! michael-pollack (2742), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 24, 2007 22oz. Bottle: Aroma is medium sweet. Smells of butterscotch, caramel malts, floral hops, and a little pine. Poured dark amber with a hint of ruby. Medium to large, creamy, rocky, tan head that lasted throughout. Good lacing. Clear. Barely sparkling. Flavor is medium bitter. Tastes of caramel malts, piney, hops, butter, and more malts. Medium body. Thin, creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Malty, but bitter, finish. Overall, doesn’t seem Imperial, but still a good IPA. johnadam2002 (529), Hainesport, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 20, 2007 Poured dark red with white head. Aroma of hops and fruit. Taste was of hops but not a ton for being a IIPA. Also fruit, citrus, and sweet malt present but in a very small amount. Not impressive at all. Sanchex (224), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 11, 2007 I wouldn’t call this an IIPA, more like a strong ale with whole lot of hops. Deep ruby red in colour with a milky latte coloured head. The aroma is dominated by the citrus hops with just a hint of the underlying malty sweetness. The flavour is well balanced with with a pleasant ale sweetness and flavourful hops. Nothing to complex though. Cheers! Maverick34 (729), New York, USA
