Golden ale with a maple syrup aroma. Dry in mouth. Fresh malt and maple sweet tatse. Lighter bodied.

Tasting three Blond Ales side by side today, I’d say this lo-cal White Knight holds its own quite well. More hopped than other blondes. This Middle Ages Brewery needs to ditch the cheezy labels, though.

Clear golden colour with a thinnish white head. Aroma of subtle American hops with some rice & sugar and nothing else. Light-bodied (as expected); Mild hop flavour with some sweetness & not much else. Aftertaste bland and not pleasant at all. Overall, horrible-but I wanted to try another inferior beer from this brewery, because I was leaving from New York a week later. I sampled this 12 ounce bottle purchased from Premier Gourmet in Buffalo, New York on 30-July-2004 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Cloudy orange color with a thin head. Earthy citrus aroma, light bodied with thin carbonation. Bland ending.

Pours slightly hazy blonde with a minimal quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is very faint--maybe some mild maltiness. Start and middle are massively carbonated to the point where you have trouble tasting anything. Finish has a nice little hop kick to it. Pretty good for a light beer. Was much better than I expected.

Orange in color with a small white head.Hoppy,floral,yeasty aroma with a bitter finish.

You know... I’m not sure if this beer is labeled right based on other reviews. It definitely is called this... but this review will be a lot different than a few I’ve read. First of all... MY GOD. The cap was capped so tightly that the bottle FREAKING BROKE. This brewery has already killed one of my openers, and luckily this one wasn’t gonna break. After I carefully poured it and avoided glass shards it gave a cloudy dark amber body with a small head. Didn’t seem much like a light ale to me. The beer itself was fairly one dimensional, but certainly enjoyable. Big vanilla aroma. Flavor was the same. Maybe some hints of lighter fruits in there. Really... I’m totally baffled by this one. It wasn’t that light bodied. It certainly wasn’t golden or blonde in color. Perhaps they changed what they put in this because most of the previous reviews say this beer sucks. In this case I’m more confident it’s a different beer than me losing my mind. Usually it’s the other way around.

Cask: Had this at the Old Toad, Rochester. Mostly clear, blonde yellow color with a minimal white head that disappears. There’s almost no aroma coming from this beer albeit some light malt and floral notes. As much as I love ales on cask, it just doesn’t do anything for this beer. Simply put, it’s bland. There’s nothing offensive in the taste whatsoever, but there’s nothing really great there either. Some very mild hops, light malt characteristics, light carbonation, and a watery mouth feel. Inoffensive is about all I can say. Why would they bother putting a light ale on cask? Hmm.
