Bottle (rating from August 2005 notes). Amber color with a light white head. A double IPA sweetness with flowers, pine, and sugars. Very smooth with a nice malty balance and a dry bitter finish.

pours a cloudy orange/amber hue with a light white head with decent lacing. Aromas of basil, citrus, and little spice and vanilla and nuts. Medium bodied with flavors of pine, citrus and a nice roastiness with a nice lingering finish.

22 oz. bottle via trade with lukin013 - Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a good size off white head. Light, clumpy lacing. Has a citrus and slight vinous aroma. Has a bitter sweet flavor. Can’t quite figure it out. Medium body. I think this beer is headed down hill. Probably at its best right off the bottling line. Thanks Jon.

Pours orange and hazy with a white head. Smells of light citrus and sweet messy spice. Tastes of caramel, some bitter hops and a decent full mouthfeel. Finish is earthy. Not a typical IIPA, but a good beer.

Robe orangée claire surmontée d’une mousse beige épaisse qui s’estompe. Arômes de levures et de houblon amérisant. Saveurs de houblon amérisant, de malt caramélisé, d’agrumes et de pamplemousse.

(Bottle) Pours a cloudy burnt orange body with an average beige head. Aroma of pine, citrus, toasted malt, toffee, and butterscotch. Flavor of piney hops and caramel malt with a dry, bitter finish; good balance.

Bomber from a friend in MA. 2005 bomber tasted Nov ’06.

Pours a deep hazy gold with strong lacing and a moderate white head. The aroma is citrus and pine hops with plenty of peach running through. The flavor is a strong herbal hops with plenty of citrus, again some peach and maybe a hint of pineapple, and unfortunately, considerable alcohol. Likewise, the mouthfeel is quite hot. On the positive side, this is not a candy IIPA at all; it’s got a strong bitter and herbal hoppiness that is cut but never covered by the malts, leading into a very bitter hop oil finish on the long end (which is a plus in my book).
