(bottle - 22 oz) Cloudy orange color with a thick, creamy, and lasting tan head. Aroma is very rich and full of flavors including some hops, lots of fruit and sweet malts, and some citrus. Flavor begins with a sweet and floral flavor followed by a sweet malt backbone with some caramel in it. The finish is very floral, hoppy, and bitter. The aftertaste is very floral with some nice citrus notes. Very warming and creamy.

Large, insanely dense head of very fine bubbles. Settles very slowly with minimal carbonation. Succulent and juicy aroma with peaches and grapefruit. Loaded with hops and a hint of malts. Color is a hazy golden copper. Wow, great balance and flavor. Hides its 10% alcohol pretty damn well. Not overly hoppy flavor. Good caramel malt backbone but not really sweet at all. Some bitterness shines thorugh and become more prominent late swallow and lingers for a while. Very easy drinking which can get you into big trouble with this one. Some flowers and citrus become more prominent as the brew warms. Decent bitter finish. This is just a very well rounded IIPA. An excellent drink!

(06.30.06) On tap at the Hop Devil Grill, NYC. Poured hazy dark orange with tiny white head. No dicernable carbonation. Fruity hop aroma. Medium-to-full bodied ale that starts with light malt sweetness and intense hoppy flavor. Some citrus (grapefruit) notes detected. Finished with light hop bitterness. A thick,well-balanced double IPA with edge toward hoppiness flavor, not bitterness. An excellent double IPA.

I found this one on cask at Monk’s. Holy hops Batman! This beer came a light copper orange with little head. Smelled of just pineapple and nectarine at first, but as it warmed, there came some birch bark, spruce, and roses. Outstanding! Just a fantastic blend of hops. The flavor was a pure hop cocktail with little or no detectable malt. Just huge pines and bitter fruity citrus flavors combining to make the most enjoyable 2IPA I‘ve ever had. 10% ABV? Not detected at all. The mouth feel was slightly viscous with little carbonation that gives the palate a very upfront experience with the beer. This is an amazing beer and a hop lover’s dream come true.

Extremely disappointing from a brewery that puts out a quality product. Very poor job of masking the abv, a direct contradiction to the style. Too bad, their other brews are quite tasty.

Sample at brewery. Cloudy orange body with light orange head. Sweet aroma with strong hints of hop floral poking through. Strong hop flavour with caramels and definite citrus hop florals. Strong back of the tongue bitters. Bitter.

Thanks to bentley78 for the bottle. Cloudy orange body topped by a fine looking manila colored head. The aroma is sweet butterscotch, caramel and some light citurs. The flavor is very bitter but has almost no hop juciness. The alcohol is strong and not well hidden. Prickly medium body. This was probably better when it was younger, but it is still not that bad now.
