Flavor is welcomingly full of hops, some citrus and something else. Good mouthfeel, with a bit of the alcohol coming through at the end. MIBRomeo (1966), Wisconsin, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 22, 2006 Sulfur, butterscotch and somewhat acrid herbal, citrus, floral hops in the aroma. Clear copper coloured body is topped by a low but lasting white head that laces well. Orange-citrus, herbal/floral hop flavours and moderate bitterness contrast well with toasted malts and fruity esters. Butterscotch is pervasive but not overwhelming. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Bottle sampled with beerbuzzmontreal, cathschlag, MartinT, Rastacouere, Olivier_MTL, Siroy and Yowie. sloth (1687), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 14, 2006 Bomber courtesy of pineypower Small offwhite head, creamy appearence, retention is good, lacing is stringy, sticky. Overly hazy orange color. Nose is distorted pine and bit of bandaid, hmmmm. Body is med/full, astringent on the palate. Pretty agressive hop profile, citrus, light pine, fruity with some sweet caramel maltiness shining through. Finish is a touch sweet, alc. showing up as it warms. egajdzis (3645), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 14, 2006 Poured an amber color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of bubblegum, citrus fruits, pine, grassy hops, and a fair amount of diactyl. Taste of pine resin, some caramel, citrus fruits, a faint nuttiness, and a medium, bitter grapefruit finish. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 9, 2006 Sorry ... although Middle Ages is one of my favorite breweries, this one is just too hopped for me. I laid this one down for about 4 months hoping to mellow-it out a bit ... no way. I’ve had it from the tap and the bomber bottle. ( I guess I liked the tap enough to buy the 3 bottles from the brewery.) I’ll go back but I’ll stick with the Dragon-slayer from now on! apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 30, 2006 Very heavy on the hops: fruity and full of grapefruits in the flavor and the aroma too. Bitter, slightly sweet, gently malted and very refreshing. It is a good brew to call an anniversary ale. Somewhat bready, and very full-bodied overall. Well balanced, and smooth. Since it is a weeknight, I should add that its probably too easy to drink. Luckily I’m sharing the bottle. The best Middle Ages beer I’ve had!
