On tap at Hop Devil Grill (NYC): aroma of hops, taste of maybe citrus and definitely spices, hides the alcohol well, easy to drink. I like this one so much I usually have two.

WOW. On my weekly visit to Marcy Discount beverage to pick up some bombers to take back to Atlanta, I picked up a few of these. I honestly didn’t know this was a double IPA until the guy at the checkout told me. Oh, that smell!! I’ve never smelled hops like that before. Seemed very peachy to me. Definitely not your normal double IPA. I never would’ve guessed that this is 10% abv. At least not until I felt the first glass hit me. Almost no alcohol taste or burning.

22oz bomber, nice copper colorj. The alcohol is so well hidden in this beer that your intelligence will diminish as quickly as the beer’s head. It has some powerful piney hop notes, tastes a lot like chinook. The beer, strangely enough reminds me of a strong belgium golden ale, it could be the fruity, sweet nose and taste, or it could be the nicely disguised abv. A very interesting beer if nothing else

Pours a full copper color, it is quite clear and is topped by a frothy pale tan head. The aroma has notes of candied orange, grapefruit and perhaps a hint of diacetyl; overall it is somewhat subdued for an IPA, much less for a double. As the beer warms up it begins to pick up notes of alcohol.

The taste is nicely hopped up and citrusy, with a finish of that has a light note of alcohol. The taste has notes of bergamot (definitely reminiscent of earl gray tea, even down to a tea-like astringency, but in this case hop derived), notes of pine, & candied orange peel. There is some malt here as well, it is certainly in subdued role though; I get notes of light caramel, and a bit of dry toasted/ biscuit malt character. There is definitely some diacetyl here as well, but it is at such a low level that it only adds to the complexity of this beer. This beer definitely hides its alcohol quite well, part of it is that it has a fairly full mouthfeel to it. This beer finishes quite smooth, it has a definite bitterness to it, but not that raw, puckering feeling that I was expecting. This is actually a plus for this beer. Definitely a nice beer, I like the mix of flavorful hop notes, malt, alcohol and mouthcoating body.

Very much an American style IPA. Pours amber colored with fair sized white head. Aroma is very similar to the flavor, very lemony, sweet, and slightly grassy. I’m guessing it is hopped with a centennial/ cascade combination. Malt is light and sweet like crystal. Bitter is there but moderate. Why this one is much lower rated than Dreadnaught I have no idea. I like it better because it is not as sweet. Finish is slightly bitter, like an lemon/

Poured a slightly hazed glowing orange-amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma (out of the fridge) was floral and citursy hops and sweet malt. Then it warmed and out came the Middle Ages house aroma...BUTTERSCOTCH. Damn them. Ctirus hop front turns to a moderate dry piney bitter finish. Decent amount of malt underneath. Not too much that it gives a full body but enough to cover the buttersotch. Alcohol is hidden well with just a slight taste of pepper at the end.

nice bronze color, woody flavor with lots of hops. slightly bitter at the end. for a double IPA slightly thin body, however I prefer it that way.

22 oz bomber. Pours a bright golden coppery color with a creamy white head. Aroma consists of hops, pine needles, butterscotch, malts, and BUBBLE GUM !! Taste is unique for an IPA. Piney, butterscotchy, and bubble gummy. Very different. Not bad, but not your everyday beer.
