Big citrus hop aroma with some caramel malts in the background. Big hop taste, pretty well balanced. Bitter. 10% is very well hidden. Overall a solid effort. alexanderj (2270), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 24, 2008 Bottle courtesy of golubj; not sure of the age, but probably at least a couple of years old. Poured a dark orange with a large, frothy head. Aroma was still pretty hoppy; sugary, piney and with a good amount of citrus. Some caramel. Probably not as hoppy as it once was, but it still packed a pretty good punch. Flavor was a bit straightforward. Bitterness lacked great and pronounced flavor. Thought the alcohol was well hidden. Average for the style for me. estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 19, 2008 Bottle, and a couple of years old. An assault of diacetyl and esters greets the nose, perhaps with some C-hops behind it. Amber body, decent white head. Grainy, astringent flavors at the start; some hops and sweet honeyed malts. Quite bad for the style, becomes somewhat drinkable once one’s palate becomes accustomed to it, but really quite bad. Typical from this brewer. Tilley4 (218), Huron, Tennessee, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 5, 2008 Just an OK brew for me. I had the Wailing Wench from Middle Ages a bit earlier and it was much better and hoppier. This was a good brew but I was expecting a hoppy bitter taste and it was more malty and sweet... | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 3, 2008 Pretty standard double IPA with extreme op flavors and noticeable high alcohol content. From the cask some additional flavors come out, but It still doesn’t set itself apart all that well. tomthompson89 (1489), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Bottle. Hazy dark orange, unfiltered and opaque, half-inch big-bubble white head that fades to cap and scum quickly. Aroma subdued but nice, an interesting hop profile for a double, with only touches of grapefruit and mostly floral, pine, lemon. Moderate malt presence in aroma and taste, biscuity, more classically British malt profile. Taste is bitter without attendant flavor, some citrus in orange and grapefruit, sweet malt and spicy, warming alcohol tinge. High carbonation, alcoholic and slightly bitter aftertaste, slightly unpleasant. Not bad at all. agl108 (509), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 25, 2008 22 oz. bomber at Flat Rock Saloon. Poured slightly hazy, dark orange with fizzy white head. Very sweet aroma of candy sugar and citrus. Very malty. Not my favorite hop profile, dominated by Warrior? Finishes with a blast of piney bitterness.
