Bomber, labeled as "X - 10th Anniversary Ale". Poured a clear, fiery medium orange with a creamy cap of beige head and some sticky lacing as it descended. The aroma was quite boozy with muted hop presence (likely age-related).. some juicy pear and grapefruit remain with solid caramel and toffee backing.. nose became sweeter and more enjoyable as it warmed up. Strong again on the flavor front, primarily with alcohol amplifying sweet caramel and sliced lighter fruits.. more bitterness on the back-end with grapefruit and perfumey notes present. Heavier-bodied and rather syrupy on the palate.. a little sharp with the booze factor and only decent balance to it. Good stuff!

(Rating #1164)

Brown rusty colored body, almost rusty amber. Nose is doughy caramel and c-note hops, with a metallic, slightly fusel note as well, and the distinct scent of blood oranges. Smooth body with a medium thickness, frothy and not fizzy on the tongue. Rusty, grainy “imperial red ale” flavors, some cherry and grapefruit flavors mixed in with a decent toasted malt bill. Much better than the Monk’s Mistress.

Organizing my cellar and I see this, a double IPA over a year old-SHIT! Oh well- here it goes. Pours a translucent orange with a frothy off white head. Pleasant malty and fruity aroma. Medium bodied, but texture is a little too fizzy for my personal tastes. Initial flavor of caramel, toffee, and mildly toasted malts that transitions to citrus and bitter middle. The bitterness carries through to the finish, which becomes peppery and melds with the alcohol,. There is some grassiness and faint flavor of candy red hots as well. After some accidental cellaring, this is somewhat like an American strong. Not bad and I am rather surprised that there is a still a pleasant amount of hops. Thanks to Rudolf for this bottle

Bomber. Clear orange with a medium head. Astringent aroma, if those words go together. Taste was mostly citrus hops and toffee leaning sweetness with some Lemon Pledge cleaner (not as bad as it sounds), and bitter through and through.
Tangy astringent texture. East coast balanced. Alcohol was fairly well covered, but get more prominent as it warms. Interesting brew.

Poured amber with creamy white head. Aroma of hops and citrus. Taste was straight up hops. Little hints of citrus throughout but mostly hops. Very refreshing.

Bottle. Poured a pale amber body with thin head. Aroma is slightly hoppy, light diactyl. Flavor is sweet citrus hops, lightly grassy, sugary and slight diactyl. Not a disappointment but not good otherwise.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma is a little sweet and a little bitter. Smells of hops, with notes of grass, pine, resin, and herbs. Poured amber in color with a large, off-white, rocky head that lasted throughout. No lacing. Clear. Very sparkling. Flavor is heavily bitter. Meld of flavors including vanilla, citrus, hops, pine, and a couple of flavors I cannot identify. Medium body. Average carbonation. Drishy, bitter finish. Overall, different, and good, but not great.
