Clear, dark gold in color with a tall head. Flavors of pine, sweet and malty with lots of hop flavor. The bitterness has a bit of dry astringency in the finish, almost "green" tasting. Light body, almost oily texture and a dry finish. It has held up pretty well for a IIPA. Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2007 (Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of Kramer 17801. Clear, pale amber golden with a nice, off-white head. Fresh aroma of citrus and pine. Quite full-bodied with sweetish malt which is completely overpowered by the piney aroma hops also leaving a solid bitterness. 290407 Grovlam (3825), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 27, 2007 Gold in color with a sweet, hopppy, slightly grassy aroma. Taste has a strange malty component I did not expect, with uncomplex hop bitterness in finish. $6/22oz RoboHop (21), Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 31, 2007 X is orange and clear with a white head. Its aroma is that of a DIPA with a lower ABV. It also tasted like it, which is disappointing. It is crisp as opposed to creamy. I guess I saw the 10% ABV and expected more. There are plenty of other DIPAs that are more robust. A good Double, just not great. jsquire (2123), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 14, 2007 I bought this bottle awhile ago since it was an anniversary beer and then I forgot I had it. Had I realized it was a IIPA I would have popped it before now. Hazy golden orange color out of the bottle with a lasting off white whisp of a head. Big hop resin and rock candy nose. Big oily hop taste with tons of pine needle and grapefruit rind. Some bready malts, honey and orange juice underneath it all. The 10% is well hidden in this well balanced sipping beer. Good hop head beer.
