Commercial Description:
Inspired by local artist & roaster Michael Allen's eccentricly-named blend of coffee beans, Midnight Sun's brewers designed a beer recipe and infusion process that perfectly captures the alluring aroma, satisfying flavor and curious legend of Allen's Arctic Rhino Coffee. Arctic Rhino Coffee Porter combines two quintessential Pacific Northwest favorites: coffee and ale. The result is wonderfully romantic and robust--a duel-fueled porter that melds charismatic dark malt with freshly roasted coffee beans. The (un)rest is up to you.

bottle coutesy of biggcb, thank you! pours black, black and more black with a dark brown head that leaves a lot of lacing. aroma is huge coffee notes, tons of both bitter roasted and sweet toasted malts. taste is really nice, light but bold coffee and roast. some faint brown sugar, oak and dark fruit notes. aftertaste is a nice vanilla coating that fades off of the bitter cooffee taste that lingers. nice mouthfeel, but i really wish it was an imperial/ a bit fuller. super smooth though, nice session beer.

22 oz. bottle- Pours black with a tan head, excellent lacing, aroma is dominantly coffee with hints of alcohol. The flavor has a very mellow coffee-porter taste, a very drinkable standard porter.

Bottle. Blackish beer with a tan head. Coffee/espresso aroma with sweet malt. Toffee and coffee flavor with light sweetness and light chocolate. Medium bodied. Coffee and toffee lingers with light chocolate and light hops.

Huge roasted chocolate nose - deep and rich. Hearty roasted chocolate malt backbone. Medium roasted coffee bean character that is showcased in the silky smooth chocolate finish. One dimensional but really excels as a great textbook example of the style.

Bottle from Liquid Solutions. Pours an honest brown/red/black with a fizzy, dissipating tan head. Nose is subdued, mild coffee notes thought not as rich as one would expect. On taste, it’s a bit tinny, some old coffee, clean bitterness, lingering fruity notes. Okay, far from a great coffee beer.

Bottle from Santa. Thanks!
Pours a deep, rich mahogany with an aroma of thin. striking brewed coffee and a touch of chocolate. Nice, thick head of light beige and spotted brown. Flavor is tobacco-ish coffee. That’s it. Not much more to say on that front. Light palate that leaves a pleasant film but lacks the thickness I like in a porter. Still, a wonderfully tasty brew that is as advertised; sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and Freud is smiling.

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of sweet malt, roasty, spicy. Tastes of caramel, some spicy hints, peppery splashes, some bitter coffee, roasted malt.
