Commercial Description:
Vicious and viscous, this menacing brew pours opaque black with a creamy maduro-colored head. Its aroma offers seductive whiskey, chewy red wine, dark fruit and lavish tobacco. Berserker Imperial Stout invades your taste buds with in-your-face flavor. Weighing in at almost 13% alcohol by volume, Berserker is completely out-of-control. Give it a good fight.
This version of Berserker Imperial Stout was aged in both red wine and whiskey barrels. The entire batch was brought back together before being packaged in kegs and 22-oz bottles.

2007 22 oz. bottle via trade with Puzzl - Pours a dark brown color with a one finger thick light tan head. Light spotty lacing. Aroma was a bit odd. It’s chocolate, roasted malt, faint oak/whiskey, and a tad bit of dark esters. Flavor is roasted malt, light coffee, and light chocolate. Had a dry, chalky aftertatse. Medium body. It was a slight let down, but good overall. Thanks Andy.

Sample from bottle provide by cbkschubert. Aromas of vanilla, oak and roast. Black body with tan head. Thick body texture with a good vanilla chocolate flavor. Smooth on the palate. Thanks Craig.

Vintage 2007, thanks to Tim! Oily, french pressed black; spotty tanned marshmallow goam skirting the surface. Beautiful aroma of belgian chocolate, blackberries, apple fritter with a glaze of wet caramel and cinnamon; lots of ripe dark fruits and soft whiskey cask character. Smooth, spicy smoke, tropical touches of vanilla beans and velvety melon flesh. Understated and brilliant at the same time. Flavor is dark and dense; carefully rounded, sophisticated, exciting. Very vinous with cabernet grapes and cognac cherries, but also pleasantly dry with baker’s chocolate and lightly acrid with sumatran dark roasted peaberry beans. Plum skins, light toffee, and a touch of pear; reserved, unique, engaging. Drinkable to an absurd degree, seeming designed to rest comfortably in calm confidence; an astonishingly perfect balance of kinetic and a vast store of potential energy. Medium to full bodied in the mouth, lightly acidic and smeared with viscous caramels and melted white chocolate. A luscious silk of dessert. Finishes smoothly with a prickly bourbon edge and doughy cocoa. Extraordinary; the experience longed for in one simplified but thoroughly polished example.

Kudos the the STL crew this impy stout. Pours very very dark with a dark orange / brown head. The aroma has creamy chocolate with some green apple - the chocolate seems dark, but not bitter at all. Full creamy body that’s very smooth with gentle carbonation. The flavor starts with creamy chocolate and dark malt that doesn’t seem very roasted. The finish has some bitterness from roast and there are some vinous traits. Good imperial stout.

Thanks to Clark VV for the bottle! Pour is pitch black with a very small, but pleaseant brown head. Great aroma of chocolate, coffee and alcohol. Slightly bitter upfront and moves int chocolate, coffee, caramel and roasty malts. Sweet finish. Medium to full bodied and creamy.

Thanks to MikeTD. Black pour, small brown head. Aroma is tough, lots of alcohol, mollasses, roasty, chocolate. Flavor is coffee, lots of roasted malts along with a lot of dark chocolate. Pretty potent and powerful stout. Sugary sweetness, mollasses, anice. A touch of vanilla. Big bold stout, tons of flavor and complexity with a huge cloying mouthfeel.

Aroma is dark chocolate malt, sweet port and molasses. Taste follows suit. Very much port and sugars. Finishes hoppy and somewhat roasted coffee and chocolate. Very solid and not over the top.
