(Draft: Midnight Sun Brewing Co. in Anchorage, AK) Probably just a one-off, available only at the brewery; Moreso than most rye beers, the rye is clearly evident in both the nose and flavor; But it seems a little light in flavor and alcohol for a bock; Fairly spicy up front, but once the palate becomes accustomed to the rye flavor, the moderate maltiness becomes more prominent; Mild bitterness stays in the background throughout; The nose is spicy and malty; Medium body could be a little richer; Light golden in color; Light tan head has average retention, gradually fading to a small rim; Overall, this is a decent beer, but compared to the breweries high standards, this one just doesn’t excite me enough to want to have another
