Aroma is pine cones, citrus and some sweetened malts. The taste is more piney and citrusy hops along with some spice and odd woody and metallic notes. Very weird tastes in there. Finish is more pine and light citrus. Seems almost like a suped-up standard IPA. It's good but not great. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 3, 2004 ich amber coloured body with a dense tan head. Aroma of peaches, pine, hops, nutmeg and a slight metallic twang. Medium-bodied; Metallic-bitter flavour starting fresh and finishing short. Aftertaste very bland and unimpressive. Hops and pine in the taste-but not sweetness at all! Overall, not a good beer-especially for the style! I bought this 65 cL bottle from Whole Foods in Vienna, Virginia and sampled it on 07-March-2004. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 1, 2004 A dark orangey amber with a good head. There's a distinct spirits-soaked dried fruit smell in the aroma. There's a light caramel sweetness added to that in the flavor. The hops are surprisingly in the background, but there is a firm bitterness supporting it. The body is surprisingly thin and seems to weak to support the flavor. Perhaps a bit ragged. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 29, 2004 Bomber, Sept 2003 bottling. Medium reddish maple cast, thick foamy head. Really lovely aroma featuring grapefruit, cherries, orange, very fresh and hoppy. On the tongue, nicely balanced with firm maltiness underlying the bold bitter exterior. Creamy-to-syrupy mouthfeel...fairly bitter but wet and juicy finish, very "green." I like it, but it doesn't seem as finished or complex as a Dreadnaught or 90 Minute. Quite good overall, a good session IIPA. bu11zeye (5635), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 16, 2004 This was simply a great IPA. The color was dark orange, similar to the color of a Maerzen with a thin white head. The aroma was of hops, and the taste followed through being hoppy, yet balanced. A great seasonal and definitely one worth trying. jasonp (1513), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 14, 2004 Updated: Jun 7, 2004Great IPA! Pours a dark copper/amber with a nice off-white head. Stronger taste and more alcohol content than an IPA but not enough crazy hoppiness to be considered an imperial IPA. I have the feeling that this would get better ratings if it was classified as a regular IPA, but what do I know. Has a nice strong hoppy feel with pine, citrus and grapefruit flavors. Man, this is EXPLODING with great flavor. Has a nice, smooth mouthfeel. A little pricey but highly recommended. VAYankee (248), Virginia, USA
