P3 = third planet from The *Midnight* Sun

Mother Earth is the rich fertile “living” planet. Our Earth combines pale and dark malts for essential body. Cocoa nibs—decadent chocolate in its most elemental form—add distinction. Lush lactose creates incredible creaminess. But Earth gains amazing ground with extensive aging on Bergerfield extra dark cocoa.

LOGISTICS LOG: incorporate rich earthy flavors of dark malted barley, cocoa nibs and powder, and Belgian yeast. increased creaminess with lush lactose. primary fermentation and aging in stainless steel vessel. conditioning achieved in bottle and cask. much more research required. .

22 oz bottle - pours thick, dark brown with spotty chocolate colored head; roasty, sweet aromas are mildly astringent and bitter; some cream mixed with sweet chocolate goodness; prety tame and light overall; texture is fizzy with faint sour note

This bottled brew from a rating party at Patricks poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a opaque no visible carbonation dark brown colored body and a fair lacing. The nice aroma was malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt hops and mild oasted malt. A decent one that I would consider having again.

Pours black into the glass with brown head. Aroma is hershey’s chocolate syrup. Unbelievable flavor of rich chocolate, Belgian yeast character, and great body from the lactose. Great beer for planet Earth!

6/16/2009: In the glass, Midnight Sun EARTH looks to be near black in color and opaque with a dense brown head topping it off. Dark and semi-sweet chocolate and roasted coffee beans fill the aroma. The flavor is semi-sweet chocolate with a toasty middle followed by a creamy coffee/mocha-like finish. It is a bit weak in the finish, but overall this is a pretty rich and darn good brew!

Draught (6 fl. oz. sample) at the Midnight Sun Brewing Company Loft in Anchorage, Alaska. Rating #52 for this beer.

Draft at the brewery ... Nice attractive pour; pure black with a thick tan head. Big chocolate component here, but it’s almost licorice-y, medicinal ... Don’t take that wrongly, because this is good. (#3568, 6/25/2009)

On tap at MSBC’s new location. Pours dark with tan/ brown head. Roasted malt nose with slight coffee aroma. Taste is anything but coffee. Taste of dark malt, chocolate and toffee. Light notes of oats and milk. A little "earthy" taste. Very creamy mouthfeel, very creamy. Slight bitter finish. A good stout and a nice way to represent Earth.
