Thanks to AmEricanbrew for the bottle. Pour is dark brown with an ok head. Aroma is chocolate milk like and has some hop bitterness as well. Flavor is kinda dry and ashy with some roasted malts. Thin bodied. Decent, but not my favorite from these guys.

Bottle pours black with off white head. Aromas are roasty with a slight hop aroma. Has a medium mouthfeel. Flavors are slight roasty, malty, smooth and silky, and has a nice balance between the roastiness and sweet malt. Very nice.

Just had another after letting it sit for a few months and it has balanced well over that time. Nice smokey choco flavor, smooth finish.

Shared with Blankboy, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of j&m. Appearance: Jet black, pancake colour head. Aroma: Nice smoky peat aroma, earthy with nutty notes. Flavour: Wonderful peat, turf, smoke flavour with a long creamy finish.

Bottle (22oz) shared with garthicus, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of j&m. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with an average size semi-lasting creamy tan head. Aroma’s a bit odd to me, not sure why. It’s lightly roasty along with yeast (is it the yeast I find odd?) and some coffee. It’s quite lactic too. I find it just O.K. Flavour’s better: Creamy and dry with roasted malt and coffee. Average to medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good.

2009-01-16. Black body with a modest tan head. Very dry roast malt aroma, muted cocoa, muted... something. (6+) Similar flavour of dry roasty malt, light note of something I can not place, not quite fruity? Smooth average plus palate. Ok, but does not do it for me today. Bottle from Brown Jug, Anchorage

Bottle courtesy of Gillard. Pours a dark brown to black with tan one finger head. Some retention and lacing. Aroma is sweet milk, cream, soy, malty notes. Flavor is dry with notes of roasted malt, burnt toasted malt, earthy esthers, yeast, phenol, Generally medium to full body with a lingering malty finish.

Yet another Alaskan beauty from Gillard. Pours deep blackness and with full mocha head. The aroma is roasty, chocolate, burnt malts, toastiness and dry lactose. The taste has sweet maltiness to start followed by solid roasted malts blending seamlessly into burnt malts and spoon full of lactose. Lots of solid notes for such a sessionable brew. Burnt malts linger deep into the after taste. Very nice stout.
