Bottle courtesy of Gillard. Pours black with a one finger tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, sweet malt, and a touch of dark fruit. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Very good.

Bottle from Hannont. Nice black pour with a lovely, brown pearly head. Certainly a lot of chocolate milk in the aroma, with a fluffy mellowness. The body has a spongy texture with a wet, milky finish. Very tasty. Some bitter, roasty malts are present, but in general the beer is very calm and easy drinking throughout. A very unique and quite tasty stout.

Bomber, dated May 9, 2008 and consumed on October 29, 2008. The pour is completely black and opaque. There isn’t any light shining through this bad boy. A large, spongy, coffee colored head displays excellent retention, leaving craggy bands of sticky lace all the way down the glass. The aroma shows deeply roasted cocoa and mocha notes, with a heavy lactic creaminess, as well as hints of oak, vanilla, and toasted hazelnut. Awesome! The flavor does not disappoint. Semi-sweet, dark cocoa and scorched caramel are complimented perfectly with smooth, milky lactose, vanilla, and just a touch of earthen spice. The lactose lends a smooth, creamy consistency to the substantial palate, further enhancing its drinkablility. This is easily one of the best session stouts that I’ve ever encountered. I’d drink this every day if I could. Simply awesome!

Black with a frothy tan head. Nice aroma is rich chocolate with dark roasted malts. Medium body. Nice sweet stout flavors starts with sweet cocoa and lactose, followed by a blackened malt bitterness to finish. Good beer here.

Pours almost black and completely opaque out of the bottle with a huge, dense dark tan head that shows great retention and leaves sheets of lacing. It’s a wonderful looking beer. Smell is very sweet with milk chocolate and roasted malts dominating. There is a very strong lactose undertone in the aroma with some licorice and vanilla as well. The taste follows the smell and the complexity is really surprising given the low ABV. Bitter bakers chocolate and lactose are present up front with a big roasted malt backbone. The finish is a mix of vanilla sweetness and the bitter cocoa. Like the taste, the mouthfeel is much thicker and creamier than I could have ever expected in a low ABV stout. Lots of carbonation add to the lingering creaminess. This may not be the most drinkable milk stout I’ve had, but it’s definitely the biggest and most complex session stout I’ve had in recent memory. Highly recommended!

Bottle courtesy of jsquire at the Fort Wayne Locals tasting hosted by patrick767. Small tan head, opaque, one ring of lacing, no visible carbonation, and a dark brown hue. The aroma was malt, chocolate, burnt, and some dark fruits. The flavor was a little bitter, chocolate, malt, burnt, and dark fruits. Tingly mouthfeel and medium bodied. A very tasty stout, another nice beer from MSBC, worthy of a try, and a beer that I would drink.

bottle at Ft Wayne locals tasting - Pours dark brown with an ample head. It has a dark roast malt aroma with some chocolate. The roast malt is accented by a mild bitter chocolate flavor and just a slight hint of fruitiness. It’s a little thin bodied for the style, but still a pretty good brew. Thanks for bringing us another Alaskan brew, jsquire.
