Pours an oily opaque with a frothy, stringy-lacing, dark tan head. Aroma of sweet toasty dark caramel and a grainy dark chocolate and roasted malt with some sweet lactose notes. Body starts fairly full and dark malty sweet with an effervescent carbonation and good balance of rich roasty dark malts before a drier dark fruity finish with lingering bittersweet dark chocolate in the finish. A nice, smooth and drinkable brew.

Poured a deep brown color with a small brown head. Coffee aroma with a chocolate base. Sweet roasted malt. The coffee gets old grind notes as it warmed. Roasted malt flavor with coffee and some ash. Sweet start with a dry finish. Very lively mouthfeel. Light-medium body.

2009-01-16. Black body with a modest tan head. Very dry roast malt aroma, muted cocoa, muted... something. (6+) Similar flavour of dry roasty malt, light note of something I can not place, not quite fruity? Smooth average plus palate. Ok, but does not do it for me today. Bottle from Brown Jug, Anchorage

This bottled brew from a rating party at Patricks poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a opaque no visible carbonation dark brown colored body and a fair lacing. The nice aroma was malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt hops and mild oasted malt. A decent one that I would consider having again.
