Bottle sampled on 9/15/07: Clear deep golden color with a wispy-lacing full white head. Aroma of sweet earthy grassy grapefruity hops and some musty cheesy caramel malt. Body starts with some sweet pale malt and earthy bittering hops toward a drier bittersweet finish. An interesting imperial pils with some almost cheesy complexity.

Poured a hazy copper color with a white head. Floral and mildly citrus aroma. Some sweaty hop aroma as well. The flavor had a crisp bitterness that ran from the front to the back. Dry finish with a growing bitterness. The beer ended up fairly bitter. Grassy in the middle.

Thanks to goldtwins for bringing this to JoeMcphee’s place for CaptainCougar come to NY gathering. Dark golden, thick looking and medium clarity. Aroma is cat pee, sweet in general with apple. Strong and sweet. Taste is bitter grass backed with a strong lager-sweetness, weird, and ehhh. Just a weird strong pils, not vibing with me.

Thanks to goldtwins for sharing - cloudy orange beer with a foamy head - orange marmalade and herbal tea aroma, with strong honey and flower notes - overly sweet, orange blossom honey flavor - hops come on strong to crush the initial sweetness, but don’t integrate well with the sweetness, fruity notes and floral flavors, making the beer, at times, remind me of scented soaps - needs more balance.

From a 22oz Bottle. Crystal clear pour of pale gold with a moderate layer of fizzy white head. All hops and no malt. Aromas of blue spruce and white grapefruit pith create an herbaly fresh, dank bouquet. Light bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel with an adequately dry finish. Lots of clean hop flavors assault the palate with a lemony citrus bite. Just enough malt sugars to prevent this from tasting like hop tea, but not enough to muddle the Amarillo flavors. Simple and straightforward, but good.

Thanks to TomDecapolis for sharing this... Appears a hazy, light gold with a small white head that slowly fades into a mild cap and collar. Spotty lacing is left around the glass. Smell is of corn husk, hay, citrus, light pine, dough, and orange zest. Taste is of the mentioned aromas with earthy notes, along with doughy yeast standing out. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, yeasty, spicy, and bitter with some sweet undertones rippling along the front of the tongue.

Bottle. Thanks to Tomdecapolis for sharing this bottle. Pours a deep golden body with nice head. Aroma is hoppy, strong malt. Hoppy taste, sugary, big malty palate. This was pretty refreshing for the hot evening. Syrupy and light alcohol burn.

22oz bottle shared courtesy of TomDecapolis. Poured a medium and cloudy amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of grass, pine, floral, and doughy. Tastes of grass, pine, citrus, and dough. Medium alcohol in the finish.
