Lightly hoppy aroma, which remains very fruity and yeasty, giving a nice blend of apples ,oranges, and pears, along with a touch of honey covered Belgian malts. Flavor is heavily sweet, overly so, but still full of rich toffee and caramel malt flavors. Full of alcohol, light fruits, light yeast, combined with a fairly watery texture. A nice, straightforward Tripel. zathrus13 (1299), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 9, 2005 Light amber color, with an tan/white head. Aromas are sweet citrus fruit, yeast, and malt. Taste citrus, yeast, some spice, and maybe a little bit of honey. It’s sweet, but in a good way, not sticky sweet at all. Alcohol is well hidden. Quite nice. Thanks to derekarent for trading me this one. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 23, 2005 Orange/amber body topped by a fleeting off-white head. The aroma is sweet, yeasty, fruity, and touched with spice. Medium bodied with ample carbonation. The flavor was spiced fruit cut with alcohol. Interesting and rewarding but not extraordinary. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 4, 2005 Thanks to footbalm for this. Pours hazy deep gold with gigantic, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of citrus, candi sugar, Brett, orange zest, spice. Very complex aroma. Tastes fruity, with mucho candi sugar, orange peel, coriander, spices. Very well balanced, and as far as this Ph.D. is concerned, very underrated. As underrated as free breast implants on Army females. Goldorak (439), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 23, 2005 Dark orange, with light, bubbly head.
Vinious, maybe my sample was getting a little old. Physallis, a little balsamic twang and some peach gives this a very "fresh" feeling that I enjoyed.
Honey sweet, with a powerful alcohol feel that dries out your mouth. Maybe a bit too carbonated for the style, but it helped balance out the aridity somewhat. FrancoisMtl (61), Boisbriand, Quebec, Canada

Sweet and peach fruitiness taste with some acidity. Smooth mouthfeel. Not bad but improvement is needed to reach Belgian standards. GonZoBeeR (2161), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

Great lacing throughout each glass. Smells of banana and lemon. Tastes of caramel, honey, vanilla and raisins. Lots of carbonation and great mouthfeel. One of the better American Abbey Trippels I’ve had.
